‘Roy’ khodake nikala ‘Dill to pagal hain’

First Impression: Roy has everything I seek in a good movie – story, dialogues, direction, acting, background score, cinematography etc etc. Ranbir as we all know is the best actor the Bollywood has got till date and so no wonder he performs. The surprise package is Arjun Rampal – he actually can act. Even the Jacqueline carries herself very well in her both avatars. Some Hindi pronunciations of hers will tell you that she is not an Indian but otherwise and ‘kayik abhinay’ wise she is bang on. Cherry on the cake is she looks fab in all her scenes.
But, did I like the movie – no. Didn't I like the movie – answer is no again. There was something missing in it but I wasn't able to figure out what it was.

After thoughts: To generalize, Roy is a ‘mild’ thriller which ends in a love story. There is a monotony in the characterization of all four main casts (mind it acting is flawless i.e. all of them have done the justice to their respective parts but the flaw lies with the screen play). Also, though each of the lead character has some layers to his persona but all those layers are the shades of the same color.
But off course, these are my after thoughts. I could comfortably watch the entire movie with out getting bored and decided to dissect it when I couldn't made up my mind on whether I liked it or not.

To sum it up: My dissection ends on this note that Vikramjit Singh (Writer, Director) had to convey the same meaning as is conveyed by Mr. Yash Chopra in ‘Dil to pagar Hain’ - ‘Usane (the almighty) her ek ke liye kahin na kahi koi na koi banaya hain bus usaka milana hum per chod diya hain’ and this disappointed me.

Verdict: You would like to watch the movie – go for it. You don’t want to watch it – that is fine too!!!
